Chestnut honey

Chestnut honey is a special honey, which appeals to those who generally dislike flat tastes and overly sweet flavours; The bitter taste and strong aroma do not make it suitable for sweetening, but rather for flavouring and aromatising. This honey is obtained from the colourful chestnut flowers and is harvested between June and October.
Its consistency is rather liquid and the reason lies in the fructose richness which determines its’absence of crystallisation. Variations in colour and flavour depend on the type of chestnut tree the honey comes from, the natural microclimate and weather conditions.
For instance, a dry summer generally produces a more robust honey, as bees tend to be less distracted by the abundance of other flowers and only collect nectar from the chestnut flowers. In general, the darker the colour, the richer and more intense the flavour.

Particularly suitable for roasts and with tasty and delicate cheeses, to which it gives, used in the right quantity, a distinctive and discreet aroma, appreciated even by those who do not like sweet-savoury contrasts.
Try it on a slice of toast with butter! You will discover an unprecedented symphony of flavours.
Very good in the yoghurt and in the preparation of cream-based desserts.

The beekeeping hives are located in the wooded areas of our property, far from intense polluting emissions. The honey therefore retains its natural characteristics, without being treated in any way. We do not feed the bees with any sugary substances and we do not use any chemically synthesised substances or antibiotics.
